It is not guaranteed to cure all woes, BUT a simple technique called EFT™ tapping is one of my go-to tools for dissolving stress and pain in my body, including shoulder and neck tension that is creeping up and threatening to give me a headache.
If you haven’t tried it, I am going to share with you why you may want to suspend your disbelief long enough to read up on the technique and try EFT™ for headaches yourself.
How can you use EFT™ for headaches ?
“So you just tap where it hurts?” you ask.
No, I tap on very specific acupressure points following a sequence that takes the guesswork out of trying to match up what is going on by covering all your bases.
In a nutshell, tapping on certain points along the meridians helps you to release stress, negative thoughts and reset your nervous system.
It may sound like woo-woo nonsense but it is just one of those things you have to try before dismissing. Hang in here with me…
As a classic Type-A person, I have developed a big arsenal of stress-relief tactics that I think of like tools in my toolbox. These include:
- breathing exercises
- yoga
- guided meditation
- solo meditation
- essential oils
- heart-rate variability training
- journaling or making lists
- exercise
- epsom salt baths
- massage
- and Emotional Freedom Technique™ (sometimes called “tapping”)
Being a regular users of all of these handy practices, I can tell you what is unique about EFT™ is its ability to break through a frustrating pattern very quickly. Let’s say I am experiencing intense pain in my neck and shoulder. I start worrying about the pain, wondering why it is happening, thinking about the workout I am going to have to skip because of it and worrying that I won’t be able to fall asleep. Do you think these thoughts are going to intensify the pain? You betcha.
In a situation like this, if I whip out the EFT™ tapping technique from my toolbox and use it simply to accept and let go of the pain, I will feel tension and stress melt away in just a few rounds of tapping.
Why is tapping a trend you can’t afford to miss??
- It is free
- It is fast, a session can be as short as 2-3 min
- It is painless
- It is instant
- It is versatile and can be adapted to help with many different issues
